QMS Train the Trainer Workshop
- To assess the level of knowledge of the ISO 15189:2012 Standard among DERPI trainees
- To encourage participants to review the contents of the ISO 15189:2012 Standard in order to be more familiar with the Standard’s requirements
- To help participants to be better prepared to participate fully in the train-trainer QMS training programme
QMS Implementation in RHA laboratories will be based on the requirements of the ISO 15189 Standard. The current version of this Standard is ISO 15189:2012 and this can be used by medical laboratories in developing their quality management systems and assessing their own competence. It can also be used for confirming or recognizing the competence of medical laboratories by laboratory customers, regulating authorities and accreditation bodies. We note that a revision of this standard has been initiated and a new approved version may, at earliest, be expected to be implemented around 2024-2025. The ISO 15189:2012 requirements will continue to be valid until that time.
Successful laboratory implementation will depend on a QMS Coordinator’s knowledge, understanding and application of the ISO 15189:2012 requirements. Your training as a QMS implementer will thus begin BEFORE the formal start of this training programme with encouragement and support for increased familiarisation with this Standard. We have developed a pre-assignment exercise that will require you to have ready access to a copy of the ISO 15189 Standard. You will also need a copy of the Standard in order to fully participate in this training programme.
